Dr. Gunter Bitz

Dr. Gunter Bitz, MBA, CISSP is responsible for Product Security Governance and Strategy at SAP.  

This includes the definition of security test strategies to find security vulnerabilities in the software and ensure the integrity of the software supply chain.

As Director of the SAP fraud prevention competence center Gunter developed concepts for financial fraud detection & prevention by using IT systems for an automated detection of misconduct.

In his former role as information security manager at SAP from 2001 to 2007, Gunter was responsible for protecting SAP’s intellectual property. He developed and implemented measures to protect SAP from the consequences of industrial espionage.

Dr. Bitz presents his work regularly in front of an international audience – for example ISSE and RSA conferences. He is a member of the ISSE and several other programme committees and represents SAP as board member in the “Software Assurance Forum for Excellence in Code –SAFECode” (www.safecode.org).
