The Hague To Host Information Security Solutions Europe 2009

11th Annual Infosecurity and E-Identity Conference Confirmed and Call For Contributions Announced

eema, the independent European e-identity & security association, today announced that the 11th annual Information Security Solutions Europe (ISSE) is to take place at The Hague (Den Haag), The Netherlands, on 6th to the 8th October. ISSE 2009 will be hosted and co-organised by The Municipality of The Hague, alongside regular partners eema, the European Network and Information Security Agency (ENISA) and non-profit ICT organisation TeleTrust, with support from the Netherlands independent association, ecp.nl.

The Hague is the seat of government for country. It is widely considered as the International City of Peace, Justice and Security, and is home to over 150 international legal organisations including the International Court of Justice (ICJ) and the International Criminal Court (ICC). As co-organiser of ISSE 2009, the Municipality of The Hague will lead the opening plenary and manage its own track of educational seminars, roundtables and workshops.

The announcement follows the success of the ISSE conference in 2008, during which over 400 delegates, experts, speakers and information professionals united in Madrid, Spain, to debate information security and electronic identity. For the fifth consecutive year, eema and TeleTrust are partnering with ENISA, to bring together a comprehensive speaker programme of industry experts including user organisations, education institutions, government agencies and vendors.

“We are now looking for organisations, institutions, governments and independent experts to submit papers for consideration,” says Executive Director of eema, Roger Dean. “One of the biggest challenges facing users today is to manage security in applications, whilst issues such as return on information, total cost of ownership, risk management and interoperability continue to be of great importance. For ISSE 2009 we are looking to build a programme that focuses on implemented security solutions and case studies from application areas including eBusiness, financial services and the public sector.”

Since 1998, ISSE has been the only independent, interdisciplinary European-focused conference for the presentation and discussion of technical, commercial, organisational, legal and political concepts for information security as well as privacy and data protection. It remains one of the most thought-provoking conferences in the industry with a content-rich and unbiased programme, designed to educate and inform ICT security professionals, policy makers and industry leaders on the latest developments in technology, solutions, market trends and best practice.

The deadline for paper submissions for ISSE 2009 in The Hague, 6th – 8th October is 30th March. The submissions should be original research results, survey articles or case studies and position papers. A full list of topics, as well as full guidelines for submission are available from www.eema.org. Further information on ISSE 2009, including registration for the conference is available from www.isse.eu.com
