Microsoft Announced As Gold Sponsor For ISSE/SECURE 2007

400 Delegates To Meet In Warsaw For The Largest Independent IT Security And Electronic Identity Conference In Europe

eema, the Independent European e-Identity & Security Association, today announced Microsoft as gold sponsor for ISSE/SECURE 2007 that takes place in Warsaw, 25th-27th September. Microsoft joins silver sponsors Blackberry, TeleTrusT, Thales and in excess of 400 delegates to participate across five tracks and well over 100 interactive sessions to debate electronic identity and IT security.

ISSE (Information Security Solutions Europe) is the largest independent IT security and electronic identity conference in Europe. “The objective of our annual event is to facilitate collaboration of users, vendors, academics and governments, to identify best practice, improve processes and share intelligence across all aspects of IT security and identity,” explains the Executive Director of eema, Roger Dean.

The remit of ISSE is endorsed by Senior Security Manager at Microsoft, Michael Howard, a keynote speaker at ISSE in Rome last year who commented,  “From my perspective I have learnt a lot about some of the EU policies that are either in place, or being put in place, and also about some of the EU customer issues that we can feed back into our products.” 

For the ninth consecutive year Microsoft is continuing its commitment to ISSE and will take an active role in supporting the event alongside conference partners eema, ENISA (European Network and Information Security Agency), TeleTrusT and the Polish research and development organisation, NASK.

Any organisation involved in e-Identity or Security (usually of a global or European nature) can become a Member of eema, and any employee of that organisation is then able to participate in eema activities.  Examples of organisations taking advantage of eema membership are Unilever, Volvo, Shell, Hoffman la Roche, KPMG, Magyar Telecom Rt, National Communications Authority, Hungary, Microsoft, HP, and the Norwegian Government Administration Services to name but a few.
